Stop “just putting a rubber base underneath it"

“Just put a rubber base underneath it.” Sound familiar?
For many stylists, this has become the standard solution. But if that is your go-to advice… then you are really only taking yourself further away from the actual issue.

Let’s be honest: "rubber base” is not a category. It is a name.

And yet that name is still used as if it were one specific type of product. As if everything works the same way. As if it is the solution to every problem. But it is not. Not between brands, not today, and honestly, it never really was.

Formulas have changed. Properties have evolved.
But the advice? That stayed exactly the same.

→ “Just put a rubber base underneath it”
→ “Use a stronger primer”

But that is not a solution. That is just shifting the problem. And the more often you do that, the further you move away from the real cause.

Hiding vs. solving

If your work only lasts because you have to add extra layers… then you are not solving anything. You are hiding it.

The real problem is never in what else you can add.
It is in:

  • what you use
  • how you use it
  • and whether you actually understand what you are doing

Continuing to work based on product names instead of knowledge… is exactly why so many stylists keep searching, doubting, and switching.

I see the difference every day

There are two kinds of stylists:

  • one keeps searching, keeps adding, keeps doubting
  • the other understands her products and stays in control

And that difference? You can see it immediately in the results.

Our Abstracters do not struggle with adhesion problems. And that is not a coincidence.
That is the result of:

  • knowledge
  • correct application
  • and truly understanding what you are doing

Time to do it differently

Maybe even more importantly:
If you keep compensating today instead of understanding… tomorrow will only become more difficult.

So ask yourself one question: Am I working from knowledge… or from habit?

Feeling stuck? I am happy to help.

Are you stuck? Are your sets not lasting the way you want them to?

I would love to help.
Not by recommending yet another product, but by looking together at where things are really going wrong. Because that is where the solution is.

Stop following & Start understanding.
